shapedek : hj sharin low – chinese food

one thing that abanglong selalu buat during free times is to browse foodies blogs. sangat tergoda to try salted egg crab. ( there was an entry about it some time ago)

but quite hard to find coz its basically chinese dish and local amad tomyam would simply ignore if asked about this dish.

i knew few halal muslim chinese outlets yg provide this.

but somehow failed to excite me.

untill we found this.

Hj Sharin Low. located after rows of high end very exclusive super hot bungalows and semi D’s in bukit antarabangsa.

(un related issue – ada notice kat bungalow tu – for sale…. hahaha. nak amik phone number agent tu pun malu… keh keh keh; tak sedar diri. giler tak mampu)

siti garmin from HTC membantu melancarkan perjalanan. though there was some glitch when she announced “arrived at destination;its on left” padahal kat left tu rumah banglow for sale yang besar giler…. (mungkin siti garmin perli aku kot….)

kalau travel from mrr2 dari gombak, jumpa zoo negara and after the esso gas staton, masuk kiri towards bukit antarabangsa. further up belok kanan. then just follow the path till u see the shop lots.

alongsinde, memang rumah rumah yang sangat menarik.

(original halal cert is displayed near the counter – issued by jabatan agama islam perak n kl.they got their itiks from perak…. )

this restoran took 3 lots of the kedai. parking was quite easy though it was mostly packed with beemers and super MPVs. hermmm… kecut gak.. kang mahal… kena cuci pinggan la aku !

upon arriving abt 830 pm; the kedai was packed. reservation were advised ! (they were in FB and twitter minds u ) mostly malay families were there but ada gak nampak few chinese couples yg dine in.

we did not do any reservation so takes a while to be seated… not good if u’re horny hungry and u’re with active kiddos!!!!

the menu were extensive. packed with usual stuff of a chinese restaurants. sharkfin pun ada, rm20 per bowl.. huhuhu.

the main reason malam malam naik bukit turun bukit redah jem is this……

ketam telur masin !!!

yeaaaahhaaaa.

first to arrive is itik bbq (RM13)

crispy caramalized skin paired with special sauce.

the meat was tender but a bit oily.

but; cicah sos, ngap sekali dgn kulit dia…… waaaaaaa syiok

crispy skin dia mmg superb….

next the greens

nama dia Loh Hun Zai…. apa makna dia jangan tanya abanglong.

basically its just a normal sayur campur. goreng.

a bit normal and bit forgetful.

cuma they use premium greens

my complaint was the pieces was way too big for my liking

taste wise – rasa macam sayur goreng.

mangsa seterusnya – buttered prawns.

kadang kadang ada gak order this dish kat kedai kedai siam

mostly failed la

interms of butter dia.

masak with curry leaves and some hidden bombs… cili padi.

rangup and crispy

sweet butter and eggs  that melts in  mouth

fresh smell of curry leaves

and sudden shock of hot cili padi.

sangaaaaat teruja.

the medium sized prawns was fresh and sweet.

sangat berbaloi for the RM16 tag!

haha..fork and spoon aside.

the sweetness and the tender fresh crab meats…

orgasm!

its all  keras…bukak bukak,lick  lick and suck suck business there

bukak bukak kulit ketam…  keras kan!

close up – waaaaahhh sangaaaaat heppi

waiter was very helpful. ie kalau kat kedai lain, bila kita dah order drinks, and halfway kita request ais kosong…it would take ages to arrive kan. kat sini the service was prompt! good good

the big boss he walks around and greets all tables. satu imej yang sangat positif. overheard from the adjacent table… the boss mintak maaf sebab food lambat sampai…  satu sifat pemimpin yang kita patut contohi!

its a family restaurant – so do expect running kids around and budak kecik yang terjerit jerit bila boring (mine included)

note – i think their MSG usage was a bit on the high side coz over dinner we rasa very thirsty.

its a non air con kedai

not something that we could afford on daily basis..

but

its really berbaloi baloi.

    • catz – yup, they mentioned it in their FB. banyak lagi menu tak try tu. kena khatam semua menu baru best rite 🙂

  3. sedap..terliur..kalau ada kesempatan turun pasir Gudang..Area Kg org asli..ada gak salted egg crab yang terbaik..dah try few places kat semenanjung …kat c2 among yg sedap lah

    masa i datang, i tpaksa chase waiter tuk dapatkan menu. then, air sampai dulu. my kids sume dah xcited ni sbb tau nak makan ketam n butter prawn tu.
    tunggu punya tunggu…. my hubi dah 2 kali cobaan membunuh diri (2btg rokok dah sedut). hahahha…. tp menu satu apa pun tarak sampai. ada customer lain yang datang pu keluar balik. my kids sume dah kelaparan coz we came ol d way from cheras semata2 sbb tau situ ada mkn sedap. sejam pehtu.. waiter dia datang.. ‘bang, sori la ketam dah abis.’ Wat..!! muka hubi tu dah marah, i dah bengang n kids dah wat muka tkulat2.. sakit atiii ok! we ol soh dia chk dish lain dah siap ke tak.. jawapannya ialah, ‘belom lagi la bang, camne ye. abg nak tunggu?’ .. sah2 la TIDAK. we ol bayar duit air n caloh..!! makahaiii..
    last2 tu kitorang pegi mkn kat cerana cfud je.. kurang stgh jam mknn sampai. so..?? apa masalahnya chef kat restoran haji lo tu..??
    atiii.. til now masih sedikit panas n sangat bengkek..!! I akan wat review n hentam dorang kat i punya blog.. jiwa panas sehh..!!

      fieza – so sorry to hear about your horrible exp. kadang2 waiters ni yang spoilt the image of the companies. is either not well trained or simply mangkuk hayun.

      me too, kadang2 mmg angin dgn waiter yg species bodoh sombong ni. many occasions i just blah camtu jer. dok tercongok sepuluh minit tadek orang tanya… cheh.

  12. im staying infront of bukit abntarangsa but tak pernah terfikir pun kat atas tu ada restoran yang sedap mcm ni… the butter prown mak aiiiii… look so superd n sedap bagai wpun withour DSLR. wakakaka…

    Mlm ni nak pergi sana gak… cik abg akan jadi mangsa for tonite…

  13. abglong, semlm i dah gi makan kat sana… mula tu tersesat skit, dah ler hari hujan. Cik abg ckp ada ker org nak buka restoran kat kawasan tanah runtuh ni?… glupppp 😦 ngeriiii… perut dah ler nyanyi2 time tu..
    sedappppp… butter prawns perkkkkk… menarik ler dgn presentation dalam bakul lagi. lepas tu hot plate daging black paper…. paling sedap and sayur baby khailan ikan masin. Mak mertua lalu kat belakang pun tak sedar… wakakaka…
    and asam boy kedondong kasturi mmg menarik n sedapppppppppp…. nyam, nyam, nyammmmmm…
    nanti ada tempat makan menarik bagi tau lagi naaaa….

    Fried Long Bean Salted Egg dan Creamy Pumpkin Prawn.
    Boleh kami tak kongsi resepi Crispy Long Bean Salted Egg tu.

    Makanan memang sedap.
